Supreme Court vacancy clock

August 8, 2018

When talking about the current Supreme Court vacancy, we often note how many days it’s been since Justice Kathryn Werdegar announced her retirement.  (E.g., here.)  (Today is Day 518, by the way.)  But you no longer need to wait for the next blog post or to do the math yourself, because the SCOCAblog home page now has a clock keeping track of the time for you.

Trivial fact:  mine was the last argument Justice Werdegar heard before she announced her retirement.  I finished my rebuttal in Dhillon v. John Muir Health late Wednesday morning, March 8, 2017.  It was the last argument on that month’s calendar.  Justice Werdegar’s announcement came that afternoon.  I’m guessing there was no causative link between the two events.
