On Monday morning, the Supreme Court will file its opinion in In re D.N. (Briefs here; oral argument videos here.)
This will be the first of only three opinions for cases argued in October. The other two opinions should file by December 29.
The D.N. case is expected to determine whether the trial court improperly delegated its authority to the probation department and violated the minor’s due process rights by permitting the probation department to offer the minor community service hours “to work off any alleged probation violations.” The Supreme Court granted review in June 2021.
The opinion can be viewed Monday starting at 10:00 a.m.
