Ben Covington draws from a broad background of experience in both appellate and trial litigation.
Ben assists clients during all stages of litigation—consulting on pretrial strategy, drafting dispositive motions in the trial court, helping preserve legal issues at trial, and litigating posttrial motions and appeals. Since joining the firm, Ben has briefed a wide array of cases, including environmental, real property and land use, anti-SLAPP, personal injury, commercial disputes, and state administrative law.
Before joining the firm, Ben served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Milan D. Smith, Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Honorable Josephine L. Staton in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Ben was also a litigation associate at a multinational law firm in Los Angeles.
Ben graduated with honors from Columbia Law School, where he served as a managing editor of the Columbia Law Review. He is now on the editorial board of the California Lawyers Association’s California Real Property Journal, and he is a member of the San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County Bar Associations.
