No conference this week; Supreme Court closed Friday

June 29, 2026

This should be a quiet week for the Supreme Court.

First, there will be no conference.  The court doesn’t conference during the weeks it hears oral argument. And, despite no oral arguments in July or August, the court doesn’t conference during the first week of those months, either.  There will be a double conference next week.

Also, the court and all state courts will be closed on Friday.  July 4 is a state and judicial holiday that, because it falls on Saturday this year, will be observed on Friday.
