The June calendar pro tems . . . we think

May 20, 2026

Yesterday we updated the post about the June calendar after pro tems were assigned for three of the seven cases to be argued in two weeks, noting uncertainty as to the identity of one of the Court of Appeal justices.

We still don’t know which Second District Justice Kim is the pro tem for Mayor v. Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.  The online docket says it’s Division One Justice Dorothy Kim.  But Dorothy Kim is in Division Five and Justice Michelle Kim is in Division One.  Also, Dorothy Kim already served as a pro tem several months ago, so the pro tem might actually be Michelle Kim.

The other pro tems we knew about yesterday are:

For People v. Hazlett, First District, Division Three, Justice Carin T. Fujisaki.

For Tesoro Refining & Marketing Company v. City of Carson, Sixth District Justice Adrienne M. Grover.

The more recently announced pro tems for the other four cases are:

For People v. Pearson, First District, Division Five, Presiding Justice Teri L. Jackson.

For People v. Argueta, which might be continued (see the second update of the June calendar post), Fourth District, Division One, Justice Julia C. Kelety.

For Family Violence Appellate Project v. Superior Courts, Sixth District Presiding Justice Mary J. Greenwood.

For Town of Apple Valley v. Apple Valley Ranchos Water, First District, Division One, Justice Monique Langhorne Wilson.
