The Supreme Court recently released its December oral argument calendar. These will be the last eight oral arguments that Chief Justice Ronald George will hear before his retirement.
We’ve previously commented on the unpredictability of how long it takes the court to schedule oral argument in any given case. One of the December cases is a good example. The court granted review in California Farm Bureau Federation v. State Water Resources Control Board, S150518, more than three and a half years ago; the reply briefs (there were several) were filed in July 2007.
