Horvitz & Levy LLP is pleased to announce that Steven Fleischman has joined the firm’s partnership. Mr. Fleischman started with the firm in 2011 and has significant experience handling civil appeals in state and federal court in a broad range of subject areas, with particular expertise in commercial contract disputes, unfair competition law, mobilehome park law, legal malpractice and professional ethics litigation, and insurance law.
Mr. Fleischman has authored dozens of amicus curiae filings in appellate proceedings, including amicus briefing on the merits before the United States Supreme Court. He is Chair of the Amicus Committee of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Amicus Committee. He is also the Vice Chair-Appeals of the Insurance Law Committee of the California State Bar’s Business Law Section.
Mr. Fleischman received his Bachelor of Arts from UCLA and his Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law, where he served on law review and was a moot court semifinalist. During law school, Mr. Fleischman served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Robert Devich (Ret.) on the California Court of Appeal. Following law school, Mr. Fleischman served as law clerk to the Hon. Charles F. Eick, United States Magistrate Judge, in the Central District of California.
