Steve Norris, Jason Litt, and Joshua McDaniel awarded 2022 CLAY Award

The Daily Journal has announced that Horvitz & Levy LLP partners Stephen Norris and Jason Litt, along with former H&L associate attorney Joshua McDaniel (now a professor at Harvard Law School) have received a CLAY Award (California Lawyer Attorney of the Year) in the category of “Civil Litigation.” The CLAY awards recognize California attorneys who have changed the law, substantially influenced public policy or the profession, or achieved a remarkable victory for a client or for the public.

Mr. Norris and his colleagues were recognized for their handling of Sandoval v. Qualcomm Inc. in the Supreme Court of California.Sandoval is the latest of a series of ten cases, beginning with Privette v. Superior Court5 Cal.4th 689 (1993), in which the Supreme Court limited the liability of property owners for work-related injuries sustained by contractors’ employees.  Horvitz & Levy appeared as counsel, either for a party or for amici curiae, in seven of the ten cases.
