Sonoma County jury awards $2 million in punitive damages against former mayor

KRSO reports that a jury has awarded $2 million in punitive damages, on top of $13 million in compensatory damages, against Dominic Foppoli, the former mayor of Windsor. The amount of the award itself is not particularly noteworthy, but the case has generated a lot publicity because over a dozen women accused Foppoli of sexual assault in incidents that spanned nearly two decades. This case involved seven plaintiffs. He is facing a separate lawsuit brought by a reality TV contestant.
