The Native Development Network has posted a video of a webinar about Piper v. Big Pine School Dist. (1924) 193 Cal. 664.
The webinar — which took place earlier this month on the 101st anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision — is billed as “a moving and informative virtual webinar commemorating the first official Alice Piper Day in California. This historic day celebrates the life and legacy of Alice Piper, a young Paiute girl whose 1924 California Supreme Court case, Piper v. Big Pine School District, secured the right for Native American children to attend public schools—advancing equity, inclusion, and civil rights for generations.”
I participated in the webinar.
