November calendar pro tems announced

October 24, 2018

The Supreme Court has announced the Court of Appeal justices who, for the November calendar cases, will temporarily fill the vacancy created a long time ago by Justice Kathryn Werdegar’s retirement.  The pro tem justices are assigned on a mostly alphabetical basis after they have served on the Court of Appeal for more than one year.  The November pro tems, and the previous calendars on which they’ve sat since Justice Werdegar left the court at the end of August 2017, are:

Rand Resources, LLC v. City of Carson:  Second District, Division Two, Justice Judith Ashmann-Gerst, who previously sat on the March calendar.

People v. Westerfield:  Fourth District, Division Two, Justice Marsha Slough.  This is her first time as a Supreme Court pro tem.

People v. Armstrong:  Second District, Division Seven, Presiding Justice Dennis Perluss.  He sat on the January calendar.

People v. Colbert:  Second District, Division Six, Justice Martin Tangeman.  This is his first time as a Supreme Court pro tem.

People v. Potts:  First District, Division Five, Justice Mark Simons, who sat on the January calendar.
