The Supreme Court will not be conferencing this week and will be closed on Thursday, Christmas Day, a state and judicial holiday. It will be open on the day after Christmas.
Often when a big holiday is on a Thursday, the court will not cancel its conference, but will hold it a day early, on a Tuesday. The court did that for Thanksgiving and, in fact, it’ll be doing that next week when New Year’s Day is on Thursday. For 2026, the court has not canceled its Christmas week conference, but is scheduled to hold it on its normal Wednesday. Christmas Day is on a Friday next year.
