In “Why not run a team against Trump?,” Daniel Pink in the Washington Post suggests that, besides naming her vice president running mate, presumptive Democratic Party presidential nominee Kamala Harris could “also announce the core members of her eventual government.”
Pink makes various proposals for cabinet level positions, but also some other “fresh faces,” including “California Supreme Court Justice Leondra Kruger as solicitor general.”
Besides the impracticality of vetting so many people for such important jobs in so little time, there could be a problem with naming Kruger specifically. For one thing, she reportedly turned down the Solicitor General position — twice — when it was offered by President Joe Biden. Also, what’s wrong with the current SG, Elizabeth Prelogar?
