Justice Jenkins interviewed

April 25, 2021

Cheryl Miller interviewed Justice Martin Jenkins for The Recorder.  Among other things, Justice Jenkins discussed his “unbroken string of having tremendous colleagues” at the three different courts on which he’s served, why he left the Court of Appeal to become Governor Gavin Newsom’s judicial appointments secretary, positive public reaction to his milestone enrobing as California’s first openly gay Supreme Court justice and his comfort in being seen “as a standard-bearer,” his hiring of several law clerks to work with those in his chamber who clerked for Justice Ming Chin, his volunteer activities with students, and his jazz piano lessons.
