We’re proud to share that partner John A. Taylor, Jr. has been named to the Daily Journal’s 2026 list of the Top 100 Lawyers in California.
John led the appeal in Soulliere v. Suzuki Motor Corporation. He reviewed the record, wrote the briefs, and argued the case, and partners Lisa Perrochet and Curt Cutting helped shape the arguments. The Court of Appeal reversed a $161 million verdict and ordered a new trial on liability. The court also struck the $150 million punitive damages award and barred the plaintiff from seeking punitive damages again at retrial. The California Supreme Court then denied review.
John clerked for Judge Patrick E. Higginbotham on the Fifth Circuit. He joined Horvitz & Levy in 1993 and became a partner in 1997.
Congratulations, John, on this well-deserved recognition!
