Horvitz & Levy is proud to welcome our 2024 summer associates, Tamara Buitrago and Rachel Trauner.

Tamara joins the firm as part of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity's Scholars Program. Founded in 2011, the program aims to expand opportunities for first-year law students from diverse backgrounds. Tamara is currently a student at Boston University School of Law. Prior to law school, she obtained a dual bachelor’s degree in political science and government and religious studies from U.C. San Diego. In her spare time, Tamara enjoys cooking, yoga, learning about Californian and Latin American history, and watching reality T.V.

Rachel joins H&L as part of the firm's summer associate program. The program aims to teach law students the intricacies of state and federal civil appellate procedure, providing them with first-hand experience of the day-to-day life of an appellate lawyer. Rachel is currently a student at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. She served as a judicial extern for the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Before law school, she graduated from George Washington University with a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication. Outside of her professional life, Rachel enjoys musical theatre, cooking, film, and creative writing.
