Further talk about Justice Kruger moving to Washington, D.C., soon . . . or later [Updated]

January 19, 2021

Amy Howe and Katie Barlow talk on the SCOTUStalk podcast about possible President Biden picks for the next U.S. Solicitor General, and for a U.S. Supreme Court justice if there’s a vacancy.  California Supreme Court Justice Leondra Kruger’s name is prominently mentioned for both positions, which is nothing new.  (See here and links therein.)

On the podcast, Howe says that Kruger — who served six years as an Assistant to the Solicitor General and as Acting Principal Deputy Solicitor General, and who argued 12 cases in the high Court — was “regarded as a rock star in the SG’s office.”

[UpdateJustice Kruger reportedly has declined Solicitor General job.]
