The State Bar of California has appointed Horvitz & Levy partner David M. Axelrad to its Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE). The mission of the JNE Commission is to assist the governor in the judicial selection process by providing independent, comprehensive, accurate and fair evaluations of candidates for judicial appointment and nomination.
Members of the Commission are required to adhere to a strict code of confidentiality while investigating the governor’s candidates for judicial appointment. Members are selected based on a variety of factors, including accomplishments in the legal profession, proven commitment to volunteer work, educational background, and prior service in national, state or local bar associations.
