“California Supreme Court to hear arguments challenging application of state’s death penalty”

Bob Egelko in the San Francisco Chronicle previews this week’s oral argument in People v. McDaniel.  He writes, “The California Supreme Court, which rarely overturns death penalty verdicts these days, takes up an issue Wednesday that could lead to reversals of hundreds of the state’s pending death sentences and perhaps all 704 of them.”
