B.M. involves the issue whether a butter knife with a rounded end and a serrated edge can qualify as a deadly or dangerous weapon under Penal Code section 245, subdivision (a)(1)? Third District Court of Appeal Justice Jonathan Renner is the pro tem.
Johnson is an automatic direct appeal from a December 1998 judgment of death. Third District Presiding Justice Vance Raye is the pro tem.
