As an Appellate Fellow, Kshitij Mehta assists in drafting appellate briefs, motions, and letters to the court. He also supports other Horvitz & Levy attorneys by researching complex legal issues, drafting publication requests and legal memoranda, and cite-checking briefs and motions.

Kshitij joined the firm after clerking for Magistrate Judge Carla L. Baldwin at the United States District Court for the District of Nevada. In law school, Kshitij externed for Associate Justice Goodwin Liu at the California Supreme Court and Judge Dennis Montali at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California. In his final semester of law school, Kshitij was a Certified Legal Intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California where he drafted several briefs and motions and appeared before the Northern District of California to argue a motion to dismiss. Kshitij is admitted to practice law in the State of California.

Kshitij graduated cum laude from University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). In law school, he served as Executive Production Editor of the U.C. Law Journal and on the Moot Court Honors Board. Kshitij’s teams were finalists at the 2023 U.C. Davis Asylum and Refugee National Moot Court Competition and quarterfinalists at the 2024 Thurgood Marshall Memorial National Moot Court Competition hosted by the Federal Bar Association in Washington D.C. In addition, Kshitij was an Admission’s Fellow, research assistant, and teaching assistant at UC Law SF.

Kshitij graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, concentrating in Accounting and Finance. Before entering law school, he worked as a Forensic Accounting Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP
