Andrea L. Russi and John A. Taylor, Jr. Participate in Pincus Appellate Seminars

February 18, 2020

Two Horvitz & Levy attorneys participated as faculty for the Pincus 5th Annual Advanced Appellate Seminars in San Francisco on January 23, 2020, and in Los Angeles on February 7, 2020. This intermediate to advanced level appellate course is a popular and respected program that covers a variety of important appellate topics.

In San Francisco, Horvitz & Levy senior counsel Andrea L. Russi participated on a panel with Justice Jon Streeter (First District Court of Appeal, Division Four) and Justice Carin Fujisaki (First District Court of Appeal, Division Three). Issues discussed include what works (and what doesn’t) for rehearing petitions in the Courts of Appeal and petitions for review in the California Supreme Court, as well as practical pointers on dispositions and remittiturs.

In Los Angeles, Horvitz & Levy partner John A. Taylor, Jr. provided insights during two panels, both with Justice Elizabeth A. Grimes (Second District Court of Appeal, Division Eight). The first panel presentation covered the preclusive effect of appellate decisions, and the second explored settled statements under applicable new rules of court.

More information about the seminars, as well as an audio recording of the conference available for purchase, can be found here.
