Rachel Trauner joined the firm in 2025 as part of Horvitz & Levy’s Appellate Fellowship Program after working as a Summer Associate in 2024. As a Fellow, she assists in drafting appellate briefs. She also supports other Horvitz & Levy attorneys by researching complex legal issues and cite-checking briefs and motions.
Rachel graduated cum laude from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law and was inducted into the Order of Barristers. In law school, she served as Lead Article Editor of the Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship and the Law and Team Relations Chair of the Moot Court Competition Team. She was part of the Ninth Circuit Appellate Advocacy Clinic where she drafted an opening and reply brief and argued a case before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which resulted in a favorable published opinion. Rachel also externed for the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Rachel graduated from the George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communications and a minor in Theatre. Prior to entering law school, she worked as an actor.
