Horvitz & Levy is pleased to announce that Felix Shafir has joined the firm’s partnership. Felix joined the firm in 2006 and has significant appellate experience in a broad range of subject areas, including commercial litigation, employment disputes and employer liability, environmental litigation, unfair competition and antitrust lawsuits, class action defense, federal and state securities issues, punitive damages liability, and immigration law.
Mr. Shafir is a member of the California State Bar Committee on Appellate Courts. Prior to joining Horvitz & Levy, Mr. Shafir was a litigation associate with Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP. He also held judicial clerkships with the Honorable Thomas J. Meskill, U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, and the Honorable Whitman Knapp, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York. Before clerking, Mr. Shafir was a litigation associate with Littler Mendelson, P.C., where he focused on all aspects of labor and employment defense and counseling. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Northwestern University School of Law (1999) and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles (1996).
