Mark Kressel Elevated to Partner

The firm is pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2018, Mark Kressel joins the partnership of Horvitz & Levy LLP.  Mark’s promotion follows six years as an associate and two years on the firm’s business development committee. Mark’s trial strategy and civil appeals practice includes entertainment, government entity defense, CEQA, and elder abuse.

Mark is a past fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. From 2013 to 2014, Mark served as the President for the Los Angeles County Bar Association Barristers Section, the new and young lawyers section. In that position, he also served on the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Executive Committee and Board of Trustees.

In 2018, he will serve on the Executive Committee of the ABA Council of Appellate Lawyers (CAL), as the CAL Summit Chair for the Appellate Judges Education Institute 2018 Summit.

Before joining the firm, Mark clerked for the Honorable Jay S. Bybee of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School where he served as Comments Editor for the Yale Law Journal. Prior to law school, Mark worked as a Broadway musician.
