President Obama today nominated former Supreme Court Justice Carlos Moreno to be the United States ambassador to the Central American country of Belize. Justice Moreno was reported two months ago to be under consideration for the post.
This is not the first time the President has considered Justice Moreno for an appointment. In 2009, he was said to be on President Obama’s short list for the United States Supreme Court seat that ultimately went to Sonia Sotomayor.
