One less thing to worry about

We’ve noted proposed legislation — AB 2501 — to require, among other things, that “[o]n or before January 1, 2025, the Supreme Court shall only hear cases in the Sacramento metropolitan area.” Well, the San Francisco based court can unpack its bags. AB 2501 was voted down in committee and is going nowhere. The court can now worry about other matters, like how the state’s judiciary will cope with unprecedented, debilitating budget cuts.
