The California Constitution requires the Supreme Court to appoint the one Court of Appeal justice and two superior court judges who make up part of the membership of the Commission on Judicial Performance. (Cal. Const., art. VI, section 8(a).) The court today announced two appointments to four-year terms — Justice Ignazio J. Ruvolo, Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, First Appellate District, Division Four (San Francisco), and Judge Thomas M. Maddock of the Contra Costa County Superior Court.
