Opinions in five cases expected on just two filing days

April 25, 2020

The Supreme Court has decided only one of the six cases that were argued on the February calendar.  Absent post-argument briefing, opinions are filed no more than 90 days after they’re argued.  (The court’s COVID-19 emergency order doesn’t extend that time.)

The court normally files its opinions on Mondays and Thursdays, and it announced there won’t be any decisions this Monday.  That leaves Thursday, April 30, and Monday, May 4, as the only regular filing days left within the 90-day period for the five undecided February cases.
