Some Supreme Court justices are telecommuting, including for today’s conference; clerk’s office remains open

March 18, 2020

Responding to questions from At The Lectern, Judicial Council Public Information Officer Cathal Conneely reports:

  • For today’s weekly conference, some justices participated in person and others teleconferenced.
  • Although the day-to-day situation varies, some justices and some court staff are present at the court, while others are telecommuting.
  • “The clerk’s office remains open to the public — the shelter-in-place order exempts all court personnel, recognizing that the courts are necessary for ‘essential business’ and as serving ‘essential government functions.’ ”  (Link added.)
