Retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens died last week at 99. There was a memorial ceremony at the court today.
California Supreme Court Justice Leondra Kruger was one of Justice Stevens’s law clerks, towards the end of his tenure on the Court. She provided this statement to At The Lectern about his passing:
Justice Stevens was a wonderful public servant: dedicated, humble, respectful to everyone around him. He was also a wonderful boss, and I will miss him.
