Michael Smolens reports in the San Diego Union-Tribune about actions in the Legislature responding to the Supreme Court’s decision last year in Dynamex Operations West, Inc. v. Superior Court, which limits the ability of California employers’ to characterize workers as independent contractors. (See also here and here.)
The article says Stormy Daniels “has emerged as a leading critic” of a bill by Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez to codify Dynamex. (See also here.) There’s also a competing bill pending that would reverse much of the court’s opinion.
