Melissa B. Edelson
Melissa Edelson is an Appellate Fellow with Horvitz & Levy and brings cost-effective solutions to clients. She assists other Horvitz & Levy attorneys with a variety of projects, including participating in the drafting of briefs and motions, performing case-related legal research, and developing articles for publication. By handling details and providing quality support to supervising attorneys, Ms. Edelson ensures that complex projects do not come with excessive fees.
Ms. Edelson joined the firm in 2017 as part of Horvitz & Levy LLP’s Appellate Fellowship Program. While in law school, Ms. Edelson served as Chief Research Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review, as a judicial extern to the Honorable Stephen R. Reinhardt of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, as a certified law clerk for the Youth Justice Education Clinic, and as a writing tutor. Ms. Edelson will serve as a law clerk to the Honorable Steve Kim, Magistrate Judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California for the 2019 term. She will then serve as a law clerk to the Honorable Ferdinand Fernandez on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for the 2020 term. In December 2017, Ms. Edelson was admitted to the State Bar of California.
