Careers
Horvitz & Levy’s renowned Appellate Fellowship Program offers recent law school graduates hands-on appellate experience working directly with our attorneys.
Fellows perform legal research, assist with the drafting of legal arguments, and perform cite-checking of briefs and motions. The fellowship program is open to law school graduates with a high level of academic success and an interest in appellate advocacy. The majority of our appellate fellows secure judicial clerkships following their two-year fellowship.
A select number of our appellate fellows have been extended offers to join the firm as associates once they have completed a two-year tenure as an appellate fellow and have secured commitments for judicial clerkships. Horvitz & Levy launched the first appellate fellowship program in California. After its successful implementation, other appellate firms in California have launched appellate fellowship programs.
In keeping with our strong commitment to diversity, we seek appellate fellow candidates who will contribute to the firm’s success, regardless of their race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, gender and gender identity, gender expression, age, veteran status, disability, citizenship, marital status, sexual orientation, or any other status as defined and protected by law.
The firm offers a wide range of benefits, including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401(k) and profit sharing plans, paid parental and personal leave, and a merit-based bonus and compensation system.
If you are interested in applying to the appellate fellowship position, please submit a resume, writing sample, transcript, and list of references to fellowhiring@horvitzlevy.com.
