November 11, 2010
On Wednesday, November 17, 2010, Horvitz & Levy’s academic consultant, Professor Richard L. Hasen, will address a noon luncheon event sponsored by Los Angeles Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, on the topic of “Beyond Citizens United: Campaign Finance Law and the Roberts Court.” In addition to working for Horvitz & Levy as a consultant on various matters, particularly in cases involving issues of constitutional law, Professor Hasen is a nationally recognized authority on election law and campaign finance regulation, including constitutional issues involving First Amendment, due process, and equal protection, and also writes the widely read Election Law Blog.
Members of the public are invited to attend the luncheon event, and hear Professor Hasen discuss the impact on the November 2nd election of the Supreme Court’s decision last term in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, holding that corporations have First Amendment rights to spend in candidate election campaigns. For further details, including how to RSVP, see this invitation.
