June 25, 2010
On June 23, 2010, H&L associate Wesley Shih was installed for a three-year term as a director on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) Foundation. For more than forty years, the Los Angeles County Bar Foundation has been at the forefront of supporting equal access to legal services for the poor. The Foundation raises money and distributes it to worthy legal services organizations in Los Angeles County, including the Barristers AIDS Legal Services Project; the Barristers Domestic Violence Legal Services Project; and the Immigration Legal Assistance Project.
Shih was also recently installed for his second year as a member of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) Barristers. The Barristers are the young lawyers division of LACBA and provide a wide variety of programs and services for LACBA and the Los Angeles community, ranging from CLE-programs to networking events to pro-bono activities and fundraisers, including the Barristers’ highly successful series of foreclosure clinics. The installation took place during a gala dinner held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, which was attended by hundreds of LACBA’s members, LACBA’s Board of Directors, and other luminaries, including Judge Lee Edmon of the Los Angeles Superior Court and the Hon. Audrey Collins, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
