Horvitz & Levy to participate in the L.A. County Bar Association’s “Food from the Bar” program.
April 16, 2010
Horvitz & Levy will be participating in the L.A. County Bar Association’s “Food from the Bar” program, a four-week effort among law firms and legal offices, in which participants contribute money, donate food and/or volunteer to benefit the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank, and its partner organization, the Westside Food Bank. The Food from the Bar program runs from April 19th through May 14th.
Through the support of volunteers and donors, the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank and the Westside Food Bank collectively distribute 58 million pounds of food each year to Los Angeles County’s most needy residents, focusing on children, seniors, families, and others needing food assistance. Demand for these services has gone up 35 percent compared to last year, due to the struggling economy and cost of living increases.
We invite and encourage our colleagues at other law firms throughout Los Angeles County to participate in this program. For more information, please visit the Food from the Bar website.
