How Jason Helps Clients

Jason focuses his practice on appeals and complex litigation.  He has litigated a broad range of high stakes cases including civil rights, labor and employment, breach of contract, securities, and mass tort issues.  He has been involved in five federal multidistrict litigations. 

Before joining the firm, Jason was a member of the appellate practice group at Morgan Lewis’s D.C. office, where he coauthored briefs before federal and state appellate courts and drafted pivotal motions in trial courts. 

Jason has clerked for four federal judges: Hon. W. Eugene Davis of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; Hon. Eldon E. Fallon of the Eastern District of Louisiana; and Hon. Charles R. Breyer and Hon. Vince Chhabria of the Northern District of California. 

He has also been an adjunct professor at the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco. 

Jason earned his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where he was Articles & Essays Editor of the California Law Review, Senior Articles Editor of the Asian American Law Journal, and competed in the National Moot Court Competition.  He concurrently received a Master of Public Policy from the U.C. Berkeley, Goldman School of Public Policy. He graduated, cum laude, from Georgetown University, and was a Fulbright Scholar in Macau.

Paymentech, L.L.C. v. Landry’s Inc. (2023) 
Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed $20 million judgment for JPMorgan Chase Bank, holding that an indemnification provision was triggered following a major data breach. [prior firm]
 
International Code Council, Inc.  v. UpCodes, Inc. (2022)  
Second Circuit Court of Appeals reversed district court’s order dismissing false advertising claims, holding that the challenged statements were not mere puffery as a matter of law. [prior firm]
