Shane H. McKenzie
Shane McKenzie is an associate at the firm with trial court and appellate litigation experience in complex tort and business matters in diverse practice areas, including employment, bankruptcy, insurance, health care regulation, immigration, and intellectual property.
Before joining the firm, Ms. McKenzie practiced as a litigation associate at Quinn Emanuel LLP. Her notable victories include a published decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, unanimously reversing a denial of an immigration petition on behalf of a detained Kenyan citizen. Ms. McKenzie also helped to successfully defend a trial court’s decision to exclude expert testimony seeking over $1 billion in lost profit damages. That matter resulted in a decision by the California Supreme Court establishing that trial courts have a “gatekeeping” responsibility to exclude speculative expert testimony.
Ms. McKenzie graduated as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar from Columbia Law School, where she received a public service fellowship for civil rights work and was a member of the regional champion Jessup International Moot Court team. Ms. McKenzie also graduated first in her class from...
