Michael Bacchus
Associate

Michael Bacchus joined the firm in 2008. He is admitted to practice in the California and New York state courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the District of Maryland.

Prior to joining Horvitz & Levy, Mr. Bacchus served as a law clerk to the Honorable Diana Gribbon Motz of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. After clerking, Mr. Bacchus was an associate at Irell & Manella, LLP, working on civil litigation cases, including international licensing disputes and land use matters. Before his judicial clerkship, Mr. Bacchus was an associate at Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler in New York City and also taught English at Hunter College of the City University of New York.

Mr. Bacchus graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree and holds both a Master of Arts Degree and his doctorate in English Literature from the University of Southern California. He received his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was Comments Editor for the University of Pennsylvania Law Review and a Legal Writing Instructor.
