John F. Querio
Associate

John Querio joined the firm in 2007. He is admitted to practice in the California state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Central Districts of California.

Prior to joining Horvitz & Levy, Mr. Querio served as a law clerk to Chief Judge David F. Levi of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, in Sacramento, and to Judge Pamela A. Rymer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, in Pasadena. After clerking, Mr. Querio was an associate in the San Francisco office of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, practicing general civil litigation.

Mr. Querio graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Between college and law school, he attended Cambridge University, receiving a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree in International Relations. He received his Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School, and was elected to the Order of the Coif. While at Stanford Law, he was a member of the Stanford Law Review, serving as an executive editor. He also received the Hilmer Oelhmann, Jr. Award for excellent work in legal research and writing.
