Felix Shafir
Associate

Felix Shafir joined the firm in 2006. He is admitted to practice in the California state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shafir practiced law as a litigation associate with Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP. He also held judicial clerkships with the Honorable Thomas J. Meskill, U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, and the Honorable Whitman Knapp, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York. Before clerking, Mr. Shafir was a litigation associate with Littler Mendelson, P.C., where he focused on all aspects of labor and employment defense and counseling.

Mr. Shafir’s trial and appellate experience covers a broad range of substantive areas, including commercial litigation, employment disputes and employer liability, environmental litigation, unfair competition and antitrust lawsuits, class action defense, federal and state securities issues, punitive damages liability, and immigration law. Mr. Shafir has assisted with one of the largest wage-and-hour class actions in California and, in that capacity, helped pioneer several defenses to liability for meal period, rest break, and waiting time penalty claims. He has worked on appeals and writs for the California Court of Appeal and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Shafir graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in English. He received his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law, where he served as an Articles Editor for the Northwestern University Law Review.
