Barry Levy joined Horvitz & Levy
in 1977 and became a partner in 1983. He is admitted
to practice before California state courts, the U.S.
Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals,
Second Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Levy was a Deputy District
Attorney with the Los Angeles District Attorneys
Office, a Legal Writing instructor at Loyola Law School
of Los Angeles, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at
Whittier College School of Law.
Mr. Levy has handled numerous appeals raising complex
issues in a wide variety of areas of civil law. He has
argued on multiple occasions before the California Supreme
Court and appellate courts, as well as the Federal Courts
of Appeals. His name appears on over 130 published opinions.
Mr. Levy received his Bachelor of Arts degree from California
State University at Northridge and his Juris Doctor
from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. He has been selected
by Loyola Law School to be profiled in their Distinguished
Alumni Series.
In 2007, Mr. Levy was honored
with a CLAY (California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year)
award for his work on the Border
Business Park, Inc. v. City of San Diego case.
