Karen Bray joined the firm in 2000
and became a partner in 2007. She is admitted to practice
in California state courts
and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Bray was a Litigation
Associate with Perkins Coie. She also held a judicial
clerkship with the Hon. Arthur L. Alarcon, U.S. Court
of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
Ms. Bray has handled trial and appellate litigation
raising complex issues of tort and regulatory law, including
several cases arising under the California and Federal
False Claims Acts and California's Unfair Competition
Law (Business and Professions Code section 17200). She
also served as the lead defense brief writer for a series
of product liability arbitrations which took place across
the country, and she has argued before the appellate
courts addressing, among other things, issues of insurance
bad faith and premises liability.
Ms. Bray received two Bachelor of Arts degrees and her
Juris Doctor from the University of California at Los
Angeles. She was Editor-in-Chief for the UCLA Law Review,
a member of the Federal Communications Law Journal,
and Student Director, El Centro Legal Clinic.
