Robert H. Wright
Partner

Robert Wright joined the firm in 1999, and he became a partner in 2005. He is a California State Bar Certified Appellate Specialist and is admitted to practice in the California state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Wright has been lead appellate counsel on numerous appeals in both state and federal courts. These matters have covered a broad range of substantive law, including issues of sovereign immunity, insurance bad faith, assumption of the risk, products liability, duty of care, medical malpractice, and the anti-SLAPP statute. Among the diverse appellate matters on which Mr. Wright has worked, he has appealed from a judgment of battery against his client following a jury trial and obtained a reversal of that judgment with directions that judgment be entered in his client's favor. Mr. Wright has presented over 25 arguments before the state and federal appellate courts, including arguments before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and each of the districts of the California Court of Appeal.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Wright was a litigation associate with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he handled civil litigation, antitrust counseling, and appeals.

Mr. Wright received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and his Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law at Bloomington, where he served as Notes Editor for the Indiana Law Journal.
