Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Lofton was a litigation

with the Hon. Thomas G. Nelson, U.S. Court of Appeals,
Ninth Circuit.
Ms. Lofton received her Bachelor of Arts from California

from Pepperdine University. While at Pepperdine, she
served as Notes and Comments Editor for the Pepperdine
University Law Review and authored Texas v. Johnson:
The Constitutional Protection of Flag Desecration (1990)
17 Pepperdine L. Rev. 757.
It is with sadness that we report
Patricia's passing on March
19 following a long-fought battle with breast cancer.
Her courage
and grace as
she continued working with her usual dignity, optimism,
and energy while fighting that battle were an inspiration
to all who knew her. (Read
